The Orange Sphinx's Secret

Leo loved swimming more than anything in the world. Every afternoon, he'd splash in the blue lake behind his house, pretending to be a fish. But Leo had a secret fear – he was too scared to dive underwater.

One hot summer day, Leo noticed something strange. The water around him had turned a brilliant orange, like melted sunshine! Curious, he dipped his head below the surface.

There, glowing softly on the lakebed, sat a golden sphinx with ruby eyes. The ancient creature smiled kindly.

"Welcome, young swimmer," the sphinx purred. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to find my orange pool."

Leo's heart raced. "You're real!"

"As real as your courage," said the sphinx. "Tell me, Leo – why do you only swim on the surface?"

Leo looked down at his toes. "I'm afraid of what I can't see."

The sphinx nodded wisdom. "The most beautiful discoveries live beneath your fears. I will show you something magical."

She touched the orange water with her paw, and suddenly Leo could breathe underwater! Together they swam through coral kingdoms and pearl caves. Leo discovered a whole hidden world he'd never imagined.

"See?" whispered the sphinx. "Fear is just a door. Courage is opening it."

When Leo surfaced, the orange was fading back to blue. The sphinx had left him a gift – a small orange stone that glowed when he was brave.

That afternoon, Leo took his first real dive. He wasn't afraid anymore, because he knew that below the surface, magic was waiting.

Now whenever Leo goes swimming, he wears his orange stone around his neck. And sometimes, if the light hits the water just right, he sees a flash of gold beneath the waves – the sphinx, smiling back at him.
