The Orange's Secret Pool
Lily loved the old oak tree in her backyard. Every summer afternoon, she would climb its branches and dream of adventures. One hot July day, something magical happened.
An orange fell from the sky and landed right in her hands. It wasn't a regular orange — it glowed with golden light and felt warm, like it held sunshine inside. Lily squeezed it gently, and instead of juice, tiny droplets of sparkling water flowed out.
The water didn't fall to the ground. It swirled together, growing and growing until it formed a perfect pool, floating right there in the air! The pool was only big enough for one person, and it shimmered with colors like a rainbow.
"Come in," whispered the water. Lily stepped closer, her heart racing with excitement. When she dipped her toe in, the most wonderful thing happened — she didn't get wet. Instead, she felt light as a feather, and the water lifted her up.
Suddenly, she wasn't in her backyard anymore. The pool had become a window to a magical world underneath. Colorful fish with silver scales swam in schools, leaving trails of bubbles that spelled out her name. Crystals glowed from underwater caves, and seaweed danced to music only the ocean could hear.
A small dolphin appeared and splashed happily. "Welcome, friend!" it said. "We've waited for someone kind enough to find the magic orange's secret."
Lily spent what felt like hours playing with her new friends. They showed her hidden treasures and taught her that magic exists everywhere — you just have to believe. The dolphin explained that the orange appears only to children with pure hearts who never stop wondering.
When the sun began to set, the water gently carried Lily back. The magical pool shrank smaller and smaller until it disappeared, leaving only the golden orange in her hand. It looked ordinary now, but Lily knew better.
That night, Lily placed the orange on her windowsill where it could catch the moonlight. She fell asleep smiling, knowing that sometimes the most magical adventures come from the most unexpected places — and that true friends can be found anywhere, even in a drop of water.
From then on, every time Lily saw an orange, she would smile and wonder what other secrets the world held, just waiting to be discovered by someone who believes.
