The Orange Pyramid Surprise
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon after school, he would grab his glove and practice pitching in the backyard. But today was different. Today, the sky turned a strange shade of orange as the sun began to set.
"Perfect practice time!" Leo cheered, grabbing his favorite baseball. But when he picked it up, something magical happened. The ball began to glow the same brilliant orange as the sky!
Suddenly, the baseball rolled across the grass—and where it stopped, the ground began to rumble. Leo's eyes grew wide as a small golden pyramid rose from the earth, right there in his backyard! It sparkled with tiny lights, like stars had been trapped inside its golden walls.
A voice echoed from inside the pyramid. "Who woke me from my hundred-year nap?"
Out stepped the most peculiar creature Leo had ever seen. It was a friendly fox with magnificent purple hair that flowed like a river of silk down to the ground. The fox's hair shimmered and changed colors—purple to pink to blue and back again!
"I am Felix, Guardian of the Magical Pyramid," said the fox, shaking his magnificent purple hair. "And you must be very special to wake me with your glowing baseball."
Leo's heart pounded with excitement and a little bit of fear. "I'm just Leo. I love baseball."
Felix smiled. "Sometimes the most ordinary things hold the most extraordinary magic. Your love for the game woke me because you play with pure joy in your heart. That's the strongest magic of all."
The fox reached into his silky hair and pulled out a tiny golden pyramid no bigger than Leo's thumb. "This is for you. Whenever you play baseball with joy, this will remind you that magic lives in the things you love most."
Leo took the tiny pyramid with wonder. "But how will I find you again?"
Felix laughed, his hair twinkling like stars. "Just look for the orange sunset, and throw your baseball with all your heart. The magic will find you."
As the fox disappeared back into the golden pyramid, it sank back into the ground, leaving only Leo's tiny golden pyramid—and a baseball that glowed orange whenever Leo played with pure joy.
From that day on, Leo never just played baseball. He played with magic in his heart, knowing that wonder and friendship could be found in the most unexpected places.
