The Orange Pyramid Secret
Lily was eight years old, and she was a spy. Not a regular spy who wore black suits and carried secret gadgets. Lily was a spy for magical creatures. Every day after school, she would sneak around her neighborhood, looking for signs of magic.
One sunny afternoon, Lily was sitting at her kitchen table, peeling an orange for a snack. But when she pulled apart the fruit, something strange happened. Inside the orange, there wasn't just fruit segments. There was a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than her thumb!
The pyramid sparkled with light, and when Lily touched it, it began to grow. Within seconds, it was as tall as her kitchen table. The pyramid had a small door at the bottom, and it swung open with a soft creak.
Inside, Lily couldn't believe her eyes. A little goldfish was swimming in the air! The goldfish had shimmering orange scales and big, friendly eyes.
"Hello!" said the goldfish. "My name is Finn. I've been waiting for a magical spy like you!"
Lily gasped. "You can talk?"
Finn giggled, bubbles floating from his mouth. "Of course! All magical goldfish can talk. I live in this pyramid, but I need a friend to help me. The pyramid is shrinking, and soon I won't have any room to swim!"
Lily's heart went out to Finn. "What can I do to help?"
"The pyramid needs kindness to grow," Finn explained. "Every time you do something kind for someone else, the pyramid will get bigger. And I'll have more space to swim and play!"
From that day on, Lily became the kindest spy in the world. She helped her neighbors carry groceries, she shared her toys with children who had none, and she always had a kind word for everyone she met.
And every time she did something kind, she would rush home to check on Finn. Each day, the golden pyramid was a little bigger, and Finn had more room to swim happily.
Lily learned that being a spy for magical creatures was wonderful, but being a friend who spreads kindness was even more magical.
And sometimes, if you look very carefully, you might see Finn swimming through the air near Lily's house, his orange scales shimmering in the sunlight.
