The Orange Pyramid's Secret Game
Leo loved baseball more than anything, but lately he couldn't hit the ball to save his life. Every swing ended in disappointment, and his teammates were starting to notice.
"Just one more try," Leo whispered, holding his favorite baseball bat under the moonlight in his backyard. That's when he saw it—a glowing orange sphere near the garden hedge.
Leo crept closer. The orange pulsed like a tiny heartbeat, then suddenly grew larger and larger, transforming into a shimmering orange pyramid right before his eyes! It was as tall as Leo, with ancient symbols that sparkled like fireflies.
The pyramid's front door creaked open, and out stumbled not a mummy or pharaoh, but a dusty little zombie with wild green hair and mismatched socks.
"BRAAAINS?" the zombie groaned, then shook his head. "I mean, hello! I'm Zed, and you've awakened the magical pyramid!"
Leo wasn't scared—Zed was more funny than frightening, with his crooked glasses and tiny padel racquet.
"Why padel?" Leo asked.
"Padel is the game of champions!" Zed exclaimed. "I was once the greatest player in all of Egypt, until I got trapped in this pyramid for three thousand years. But I can still teach you!"
For the next hour, Zed taught Leo padel—a game like tennis, but played on a smaller court with special walls. Leo learned to watch the ball carefully, to time his swings perfectly, and most importantly, to believe in himself.
"You have the talent, Leo," Zed said, dusting off his knees. "You just needed focus and confidence. Now go show that baseball what you're made of!"
As dawn broke, the orange pyramid shrank back into a small orange sphere that dissolved into sparkles. Zed was gone—but in Leo's pocket sat a tiny padel racquet charm, glowing faintly.
At baseball practice that day, Leo stepped to the plate with new confidence. He remembered everything Zed taught him about timing and focus. The pitcher threw the ball—CRACK! Leo sent it soaring over the fence for his first home run ever.
His teammates rushed him with cheers, but Leo reached into his pocket and whispered, "Thank you, Zed."
Sometimes, Leo learned, the best help comes from the most unexpected friends—and magical adventures can teach you lessons that last forever.
