The Orange Pyramid's Secret Friend

orangezombiepyramid

In a garden where magic grew like weeds, twelve-year-old Zara discovered something extraordinary. Behind the old oak tree stood a small orange pyramid, glowing with golden light that peeked through its crystal walls.

"Hello?" Zara called, stepping closer. Her heart beat fast, but curiosity pulled her forward.

Suddenly, the pyramid's door opened, and out shuffled a zombie. But this wasn't a scary zombie like in stories. His skin was mossy green, his hair was made of twisting vines, and his eyes sparkled like morning dew.

"Please don't run," the zombie said softly. "I'm Zeb. I've been waiting 3,000 years for someone to find my orange pyramid."

Zara stayed. "You've been alone that long?"

Zeb nodded. "Egyptian magic made me this way. I sleep until someone kind discovers my pyramid. Then I wake to share its secret."

He reached into the pyramid and pulled out the most perfect orange Zara had ever seen. Its skin shimmered like sunset.

"This orange grants wishes," Zeb explained. "But only wishes that help others."

Zara's eyes widened. "Really?"

Zeb smiled, and his vine hair bloomed with tiny white flowers. "Try it. Wish for something wonderful for someone else."

Zara thought hard. "I wish... I wish my grandmother's broken leg would heal quickly. She misses gardening."

The orange glowed brighter, its light flowing outward like warm honey. For a moment, the whole garden sparkled.

Zeb's eyes twinkled. "Your wish has begun its journey. Now, will you help me with my garden? These magical flowers need a friend's touch."

Zara spent every afternoon that summer in the orange pyramid, learning that true magic wasn't in wishes at all. It was in friendship, in kindness, and in never judging someone by how they looked. Zeb became her best friend, teaching her that zombies could be gentle, pyramids could be small, and the most ordinary orange could hold the most extraordinary magic of all—friendship.
