The Orange Pyramid's Secret

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's garden, especially the old stone pool hidden behind the roses. It wasn't a swimming pool—just a shallow basin filled with rainwater and shiny pebbles. But today, something glowed beneath the surface.

An orange pyramid! It pulsed with golden light, small enough to fit in her palm. Lily reached in, and the moment her fingers touched it, her curly brown hair began to sparkle like starlight.

"Who dares wake me?" a tiny voice squeaked.

Lily gasped. A miniature person, no bigger than her thumb, popped out of the orange pyramid. He had wings like a dragonfly and wore a crown made of dandelion fluff.

"I'm Prince Felix of the Crystal Kingdom!" he announced. "Our land has lost its magic because nobody believes in wonder anymore."

Lily's heart raced. "How can I help?"

"You must run to the top of the tallest hill at sunset," said Felix. "Believe with all your heart, and the magic will return."

Lily had never liked running—it made her lungs burn and her legs ache. But Prince Felix looked so worried that she nodded anyway.

Her grandmother found her sprinting toward the hill. "Lily! Where are you running off to?"

"To save a kingdom!" Lily called back, her sparkling hair streaming behind her like a comet's tail.

She reached the hilltop just as the sun dipped below the horizon. Standing there, winded but determined, she closed her eyes and whispered, "I believe in magic."

The orange pyramid in her pocket grew warm. Gold dust swirled around her, and suddenly she could see hundreds of tiny winged people dancing in the air, their laughter like silver bells.

"Thank you!" Prince Felix cheered, landing on her shoulder. "You didn't give up, even when running was hard. That's the real magic—courage and friendship."

That night, Lily fell asleep with orange pyramid dreams and hair that still sparkled faintly in the moonlight. Some things, she learned, are worth running for—especially when friends need you.
