The Orange Pyramid's Secret
Lily loved summertime more than anything. Every day, she'd jump into her backyard pool, splashing in the cool blue water. But today was different.
As Lily was swimming, something shiny caught her eye at the bottom of the pool. She dove deeper and gasped—a perfect golden pyramid was glowing on the pool floor!
"How strange!" Lily whispered, surfacing for air. The pyramid wasn't heavy at all. When she lifted it, the water around it turned the color of a ripe orange.
Suddenly, the pyramid spoke in a bubbly voice. "I've been waiting for someone kind enough to find me!"
Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk?"
"I'm the Friendship Pyramid," it explained. "I was hidden by lonely creatures long ago. Only someone with a true heart can free me."
But the pyramid had a problem. Its magic was fading. It needed the juice of one perfect orange to shine again. Lily's little brother Timmy had just picked oranges from their grandmother's tree.
"I'll help!" Lily promised, racing inside. She returned with the roundest, brightest orange. The moment she squeezed it over the pyramid, golden light burst forth!
The water began to sparkle. Tiny fish made of rainbow light swam around them. A friendly dolphin appeared, offering Lily a ride.
"Thank you!" the pyramid sang. "Because you showed kindness, this pool will always be magical for you and your friends."
That afternoon, Lily and Timmy spent hours swimming with their new magical friends. They learned that the best treasures aren't gold or jewels—they're the moments we share with others.
And every summer after that, whenever Lily looked at the orange sunset reflecting on the water, she'd smile, remembering the day a lonely pyramid taught her that kindness is the greatest magic of all.
