The Orange Pyramid's Secret
Mia loved building things in her backyard. One sunny afternoon, she stacked dozens of juicy oranges into a gleaming orange pyramid. It sparkled in the sunlight like a golden treasure.
"That's the tallest pyramid ever!" cheered her best friend, Noah, who lived next door.
Suddenly, the oranges began to glow. A mysterious green mist swirled around the pyramid, and out stumbled a sleepy-looking creature with messy hair and clothes that looked ancient and dusty.
"I'm the Zombie Guardian," the creature yawned, stretching his arms. "I've been sleeping inside this pyramid for three thousand years!"
Mia and Noah gasped, but the zombie just smiled. "Don't worry—I'm not scary. I'm just very, very tired. And hungry. Do you have any oranges?"
The children laughed. Their new friend wasn't a monster at all—just a lonely guardian who had been protecting a secret treasure for centuries. The zombie had been cursed to sleep until someone built a pyramid of pure kindness and friendship.
That afternoon, Mia, Noah, and the zombie shared oranges and listened to amazing stories about ancient times. The zombie taught them that true magic comes from friendship, not from being scary or powerful.
When the moon rose, the Guardian gave Mia and Noah each a special orange seed. "Plant these," he whispered, "and you'll always have magic in your garden."
The children watched as their friend slowly walked back into his pyramid, turning into a statue again. But now, whenever Mia and Noah visit the orange pyramid in her backyard, they can feel his friendly spirit watching over them.
Sometimes the scariest-looking things turn out to be the most wonderful friends—if you're brave enough to say hello.
