The Orange Pyramid's Secret

Lily's room was ordinary except for Finnegan, her pet goldfish who lived in a bowl beside her bed. Most goldfish just swam in circles, but Finnegan liked to watch Lily draw and sometimes even seemed to nod at her favorite pictures.

One Tuesday afternoon, Lily was arranging her snack on the kitchen table. She placed three slices of an orange on her plate when something strange happened. The slices began to tremble, then stack themselves into a tiny orange pyramid that glowed with golden light.

"Finally," whispered a voice. Lily looked around wildly. The voice came from Finnegan's bowl, which she'd brought to the kitchen.

"Finnegan?" she gasped.

The goldfish swam to the surface, his scales shimmering. "I've been waiting for you to discover the Portal of Colors. The orange pyramid only appears for children with truly magical imaginations."

Lily's eyes widened. "Magical? Like fairytales?"

"Better," Finnegan said. "The Realm of Wonder needs your help. Someone has stolen all the colors, and everything is turning gray. Will you help me save it?"

Lily touched the glowing orange pyramid, and suddenly she was standing in a world where trees had blue leaves and flowers sang melodies. But everything was fading to gray.

"Who stole the colors?" Lily asked.

"The Grayness," Finnegan explained. "It grows when children stop believing in magic. But you still believe—I can see it in how you draw and play."

They journeyed through candy forests and cloud mountains until they found the Grayness—a shadowy figure that fed on forgotten dreams.

"You cannot stop me," the Grayness boomed. "No one believes anymore."

"I do!" Lily shouted. She pulled out her crayons and drew the most colorful picture she could imagine—a rainbow tiger dancing under purple stars with orange pyramids raining confetti. As she drew, color burst from her paper, spreading across the gray kingdom.

The Grayness shrank and vanished. Colors returned brighter than before.

"Thank you, Lily," Finnegan said. "You saved us with something simple—your imagination. Never stop dreaming in color."

Lily woke up at her kitchen table. The orange pyramid was gone, and Finnegan swam silently in his bowl. But that night, she noticed something new: when she drew, her pictures sparkled with extra magic.

And sometimes, when she ate oranges, she could still hear Finnegan whisper, "Remember—adventure awaits those who believe."
