The Orange Pyramid's Magic

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon, he would grab his favorite glove and practice throwing against the old oak tree in his backyard. But today was different.

As Leo reached for a ball that had rolled under the bushes, he spotted something strange. A small, glowing orange pyramid sat nestled among the roots. It pulsed with soft light, like a tiny heartbeat.

Leo reached out carefully, but before his fingers could touch it, a tiny creature popped out from behind the pyramid! It was a little brown mouse wearing a miniature black mask.

"Are you a spy?" Leo whispered, eyes wide.

The mouse straightened his mask importantly. "I'm Whiskers, guardian of the Pyramid of Wishes. I've been watching you practice." He twitched his nose. "You have a good heart, Leo. This pyramid grants one wish to someone who truly deserves it."

Leo thought hard. He could wish for anything – a new bike, endless summer vacation, or even to become a baseball superstar! But then he thought about his friend Sam, who couldn't play baseball because he was in the hospital.

"I wish for Sam to get better and play baseball with me," Leo said, his voice steady and sure.

The orange pyramid burst into dazzling light, swirling around them like tiny fireflies. A warm wind rustled through the palm trees in Leo's yard, carrying the sweet scent of magic.

Whiskers smiled. "You chose friendship over your own dreams. That's the most powerful magic of all."

The next day, Sam was home and healthy. The two friends played baseball until sunset, and sometimes, when the light was just right, Leo would catch a glimpse of a tiny masked mouse watching from the bushes, giving him a little whisker twitch of approval.

Leo learned that the best wishes are the ones we make for others.
