The Orange Pyramid of Wonder
Lily sat by the pool, dipping her toes in the cool blue water. The summer sun painted everything golden, especially the orange she'd brought for a snack. Its bright color reminded her of her favorite sweater—the one her grandmother had given her before she moved away.
"I wish I could see Grandma," Lily whispered, wiping a tear from her cheek.
Just then, something caught her eye. Her father's iPhone lay on the pool deck, its screen glowing with strange purple light. Lily knew she shouldn't touch it, but the light was so beautiful, like tiny stars dancing.
She reached out—and the screen rippled like water! suddenly, the iPhone transformed into a shimmering purple portal. Through it, Lily saw something amazing: a golden pyramid standing in a desert oasis, its peak touching a sky full of rainbows.
"Come through, Lily!" a voice called. A girl about her age stepped out from behind the pyramid. She wore robes that shifted colors like the sunset. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to find the Magic Door."
Lily stepped through the portal and found herself in the most beautiful place she'd ever seen. The orange in her hand began to glow like a tiny sun.
"You brought it!" the girl cheered. "The Sun Fruit! It will unlock the pyramid's secret!"
Together, they placed the orange on a stone pedestal before the pyramid. The fruit's juice seeped into the ancient carvings, and the pyramid's doors opened with a sound like wind chimes.
Inside, Lily found an enchanted mirror. When she looked into it, she saw her grandmother smiling back at her!
"Grandma!" Lily cried.
"The magic pyramid connects hearts across any distance," her grandmother's voice whispered from the mirror. "All you need is friendship and courage to find it."
Lily hugged her new friend. "Thank you for showing me this."
"Magic works best when shared," the girl said with a wink. "Come back anytime, Lily. We have so many adventures waiting."
When Lily returned through the iPhone portal, she found herself back by the pool. But now she understood something wonderful: no matter how far apart loved ones might be, love creates its own magic bridges between hearts.
That night, Lily dreamed of orange pyramids and purple portals, knowing that friendship was the greatest magic of all.
