The Orange Pyramid of Wonder
Ten-year-old Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon after school, he'd grab his glove and head to the backyard to practice pitching. One stormy evening, as dark clouds gathered overhead, Leo noticed something strange in his garden—a small pyramid-shaped object, glowing with the most brilliant orange light he'd ever seen.
Leo stepped closer, his baseball still clutched in his hand. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky and struck the orange pyramid directly. But instead of destroying it, the lightning seemed to charge it with even more power. The pyramid began to hum, and Leo watched in amazement as his baseball started to float toward it.
"Whoa!" Leo whispered, his eyes wide with wonder.
As his baseball touched the glowing orange pyramid, it transformed—turning into a shimmering sphere that looked like a miniature sun. The pyramid spoke in a gentle voice: "I am the Pyramid of Dreams. I grant magic to those with pure hearts who love what they do."
Leo immediately thought of his best friend Maya, who always dreamed of hitting a home run but struggled because she was smaller than the other kids. He wished not for himself, but for her.
"Please," Leo said, "help my friend Maya experience the joy of hitting a home run."
The pyramid glowed even brighter. "Your selflessness makes your wish even more powerful," it said. The pyramid transformed back into a regular orange-colored stone, but the magic sphere remained.
The next day at practice, Leo secretly placed the magical baseball on the tee. Maya stepped up, nervous as always. But when she connected with the ball, it sailed over the fence—her first home run ever!
Maya jumped with joy, and Leo grinned, knowing that the real magic wasn't in the pyramid or the lightning-charged baseball. The real magic was in friendship and believing in each other.
That night, Leo kept the orange pyramid on his nightstand. It no longer glowed, but sometimes, when he closed his eyes, he could still hear its gentle reminder: "The greatest magic is the kindness we share."
From that day on, Leo and Maya became the best teammates, always encouraging each other. And though no one else would ever believe the story of the orange pyramid and the lightning bolt, they both knew that some magic is real—especially the magic of friendship.
