The Orange Pyramid of Magic

Lily loved exploring. Every day after school, she'd wander through her backyard looking for hidden treasures. But one Tuesday, she found something extraordinary.

Behind the old oak tree, something glowed. A tiny pyramid, no bigger than her thumb, shimmered in the grass. Its sides sparkled like captured sunlight.

"Wow!" Lily whispered, picking it up gently. Warmth spread through her fingers.

Suddenly, the pyramid floated from her hand! It spun faster and faster until POOF! A puff of sweet-smelling smoke appeared.

When the smoke cleared, someone new stood there. A girl about Lily's age, with hair the color of autumn leaves and eyes that twinkled like stars.

"Hello!" the girl said. "I'm Maya. I was trapped inside that orange pyramid for one hundred years!"

"Orange pyramid?" Lily asked, confused.

Maya pointed. "Look!"

The tiny pyramid was glowing bright orange, like the sunset. It pulsed with magic.

"A wizard cast a spell on me," Maya explained. "He said only someone with a kind heart could free me. That's you!"

Lily's heart swelled. She'd never been a hero before.

Maya reached into her pocket and pulled out something round and bright. "This is my thank-you gift." It was the most perfect orange Lily had ever seen.

"It's magic," Maya promised. "One bite will fill you with courage."

They sat together in the grass, sharing the orange. It tasted like sunshine and dreams.

"Will you be my friend?" Lily asked shyly.

Maya grinned. "Forever and always."

From that day on, the orange pyramid sat on Lily's nightstand. Sometimes it glowed, reminding her that magic exists everywhere. But the real magic wasn't the pyramid or the enchanted fruit.

The real magic was having someone to share adventures with.

And every night before bed, Lily whispered, "Thank you for my friend."

Because friendship, she learned, is the greatest treasure of all.
