The Orange Pyramid of Dreams
Leo had the wildest **hair** in his whole class. It stuck up in every direction, especially when he was excited. And right now, with his loyal golden **dog** Barnaby bouncing beside him, Leo was VERY excited.
"Come on, Barnaby!" Leo laughed, racing toward the old swimming hole. It was the hottest day of summer, and the cool blue water called to them.
Barnaby loved **swimming** more than anything. The moment they reached the water's edge, the happy dog splashed right in, sending droplets flying like tiny diamonds. Leo jumped in after him, and together they floated under the bright blue sky.
But something strange caught Leo's eye. At the bottom of the swimming hole, something glowed. Something orange.
Curious, Leo dove deeper. There, resting on the sandy bottom, sat a small orange pyramid. It pulsed with warmth and light, even underwater!
Leo grabbed it and surfaced, gasping. The moment the pyramid broke through the water's surface, the world around them shimmered and changed.
The swimming hole transformed into a magical desert under a sky filled with two moons. And the orange pyramid in Leo's hand began to speak in a voice like gentle chimes.
"Thank you for finding me," said the pyramid. "I am the Dream Keeper. I grant one wish to those with pure hearts."
Leo looked at Barnaby, who was now marveling at a cluster of floating purple flowers. Leo thought hard about what to wish for. More toys? No. To be the fastest runner? Maybe. But then he looked at his messy hair and his wonderful dog, and he knew.
"I wish," Leo said clearly, "that every child could have a best friend like Barnaby."
The pyramid glowed brighter than ever. "A wish from the heart is the most powerful magic of all."
Suddenly, the desert faded, and they were back at the swimming hole. But something was different — the orange pyramid had become a beautiful orange crystal that Leo wore on a string around his neck.
From that day on, whenever Leo met someone who looked lonely, he would introduce them to Barnaby. And somehow, by the end of the day, that person would have found a new friend too.
The real magic wasn't the pyramid at all. It was the simple act of kindness, shared freely and without asking for anything in return.
And Leo? He never did comb his hair. But he didn't need to. Because true friends love you exactly as you are — wild hair and all.
