The Orange Pyramid Mystery

orangepyramidspinachdoggoldfish

Lily's golden goldfish, Finny, swam in circles around his bowl. Something was wrong. His scales had turned the color of a ripe orange!

"What happened, Finny?" Lily whispered, tapping the glass.

Finny bubbled something that sounded like "Pyramid!"

Her fluffy dog, Barnaby, trotted over and nudged her knee. "Woof!"

"You understand him?" Lily asked, amazed.

Barnaby nodded vigorously. Then something magical happened—he spoke! "Finny says we must follow the orange path to the great Pyramid of Wonder. It's where the missing colors go!"

Lily's grandmother had warned her about eating her spinach. "Green vegetables give you magical sight," she'd said. Lily looked at her dinner plate. Maybe Grandma was right!

She ate all her spinach that night. Suddenly, the world shimmered with hidden colors. An orange glowing trail appeared on her bedroom floor!

"Come on!" Lily cried, grabbing Finny's bowl. Barnaby bounded ahead.

The orange path led them through a shimmering portal in her closet—and suddenly they stood before a magnificent pyramid made entirely of crystallized orange slices!

"The Pyramid of Wonder," Finny bubbled.

Inside, color thieves were trapping all the world's oranges—sunsets, tigers, marigolds—in glass jars. One by one, they were fading away!

"We have to stop them!" Lily shouted.

Barnaby unleashed a mighty bark that shattered the glass jars. Freed orange light swirled around them. Finny's scales sparkled back to gold!

The grateful color spirits granted them a wish. Lily wished that every child could see the magic in ordinary things.

Now whenever children eat their vegetables with an open heart, they too might discover that the most wonderful adventures are hidden in the most unexpected places—even in a goldfish bowl.

And sometimes, just sometimes, an ordinary orange might lead to something extraordinary.
