The Orange Pyramid Mystery
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard. Behind the old oak tree, she spotted something strange — a thick cable peeking from the ground like a green snake.
"What are you?" she whispered, tugging gently.
The cable hummed in her hands, vibrating with warmth. She followed it through tall grass until it reached the abandoned swimming pool. The pool hadn't held water in years, but today — it was filled with shimmering liquid that looked like liquid sunshine!
Lily's stomach rumbled. She'd brought an orange from breakfast. Just as she peeled it, a drop of juice splashed into the magical water.
*FLASH!*
The pool rippled and swirled. Slowly, an orange pyramid rose from the depths — glowing, spinning, floating as light as a bubble. Its surface shimmered like jeweled honey.
"Wow!" Lily gasped.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" said a voice. A boy with eyes the color of summer sky peered over the pool's edge. "I'm Toby. I live next door."
Together they watched as the pyramid's light painted patterns on their faces. "What do you think it does?" Toby asked.
Lily squeezed her orange, letting more drops fall near the pyramid. *PING!* Each drop became a tiny orange fish, swimming through air, leaving trails of sparkles.
"It makes imagination REAL!" Lily cried.
They spent hours making wishes. Drops of juice became butterflies, became stories, became songs. The pyramid glowed brighter with each dream.
"We should share this," Toby said. "Other kids could make magic too."
Lily nodded. "Best friends keep secrets, but good friends share magic."
That summer, children from all over came to the pool. The cable had connected them to something better than any adventure alone — friendship. And the orange pyramid? It still glows, waiting for the next dreamer to discover that the real magic isn't the pyramid at all.
It's believing together.
