The Orange Pyramid Mystery

Lily's golden retriever, Buster, was the best dog in the whole world. He could catch tennis balls in mid-air and always knew when Lily was sad. But one hot summer day, Buster did something very strange.

He barked at the swimming pool. Not his usual 'let's swim' bark, but a serious 'come here quickly' bark.

Lily ran outside. The pool water was glowing orange! Floating in the middle was a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than a shoebox, spinning slowly.

'Buster wants us to swim,' Lily whispered.

They jumped in together. As Lily reached for the pyramid, the orange water tickled her skin like tiny bubbles. When her fingers touched the golden object, everything changed.

Suddenly, she and Buster weren't in a pool anymore. They stood in a vast orange desert under a sky full of stars. Before them rose a magnificent pyramid made entirely of light!

A small voice echoed from everywhere at once. 'Welcome, brave friends. I am the Guardian of Wishes.'

Lily held Buster's paw tight. 'Who are you?'

'I am what you see,' the voice replied gently. 'Long ago, I was placed in your world to find kind hearts. You love your dog dearly, and he loves you. That is the strongest magic.'

The pyramid of light shimmered. 'I grant one wish to those who understand true friendship. What do you desire?'

Lily thought hard. She could wish for anything — endless toys, a castle, or flying powers. But she looked at Buster, who was nudging her hand with his wet nose.

'I wish that every dog in the world could have a loving family like Buster has,' she said.

The Guardian of Wishes made a sound like wind chimes. 'A wise choice. Your wish shall echo through time.'

In a blink, Lily and Buster were back in their pool. The tiny golden pyramid had vanished. But now, floating on the water's surface, was a single orange flower — shaped exactly like a pyramid.

Buster barked happily and splashed water everywhere.

That night, as Lily fell asleep with Buster curled up at the foot of her bed, she understood something wonderful: the best magic isn't about wishes coming true. It's about loving someone so much that you want everyone to feel that same joy.
