The Orange Pyramid Magic

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon after school, he'd grab his favorite glove and run to the park, where the grass was always greener and the sun always seemed to smile.

One hot Tuesday, Leo sat on the bench during practice, peeling an orange. The sticky juice dripped down his chin as he watched his best friend Maya step up to bat. CRACK! The ball sailed high into the sky, disappearing into the mysterious woods beyond left field.

"I'll get it!" Leo called, dropping his orange half-eaten.

He chased the ball through trees until he reached a hidden clearing he'd never seen before. In the center stood a tiny pyramid made of glowing orange stones, no bigger than a shoebox. Water bubbled up around it, forming the clearest, bluest pool Leo had ever seen.

Maya appeared beside him, breathless. "What is that?"

Leo reached toward the pyramid. As his finger touched the warm orange stone, the water suddenly swirled upward, forming a magnificent fountain. Inside the sparkling spray, hundreds of tiny glowing creatures danced—Baseball Fairies!

"You found us!" chimed the smallest fairy, fluttering on gossamer wings. "We've been waiting for someone pure of heart."

The pyramid's orange light grew brighter. "For your kindness and bravery," the fairy announced, "we grant you one wish."

Leo and Maya looked at each other and smiled. "We wish that every kid in the world could have a best friend to share adventures with."

The pyramid hummed with joy. Orange light burst outward like fireworks, carrying sparkles across the sky.

From that day on, Leo noticed something magical. Lonely kids on the playground suddenly found someone to talk to. Shy children made their first friends. And whenever he and Maya played baseball together, their oranges always tasted sweeter.

Some things, Leo learned, are better than winning games—like the magic of friendship, the wonder of discovery, and the joy of sharing adventures with someone who makes every day extraordinary.
