The Orange Pyramid Guardian
Lily loved building forts in her backyard. One sunny afternoon, she stacked cardboard boxes into a giant pyramid shape. She crawled inside with her favorite snack—a bright orange from Grandma's tree.
Suddenly, the pyramid began to glow! Lily gasped as the orange in her hand started to shimmer like a tiny sun. The cardboard walls transformed into golden stone, and she found herself inside a real pyramid in a magical desert.
"Who disturbs my rest?" groaned a voice.
Lily turned to see a green creature shambling toward her. It looked like a zombie, but instead of being scary, it wore colorful party clothes and held a bunch of balloons.
"I'm sorry!" Lily said, clutching her magical orange. "I didn't mean to wake you."
The zombie smiled warmly. "I'm not a real zombie. I'm Zara, the Party Guardian! I've been sleeping for a hundred years because nobody visited my pyramid."
Zara explained that she was supposed to protect the pyramid's magic, but loneliness had made her sleepy. The magical orange in Lily's hand was the key to waking her up.
"Will you be my friend?" Zara asked hopefully. "I haven't had anyone to celebrate with in so long."
Lily's eyes widened. "Yes! But first, let's share my orange."
They split the orange together, and as they ate, colorful streamers appeared throughout the pyramid. Zara taught Lily a special dance, and they laughed and played until sunset.
When it was time for Lily to go home, Zara gave her a magical orange seed. "Plant this in your garden, and I'll visit whenever you want to party."
Lily woke up in her cardboard pyramid, holding a real orange seed. She ran to plant it right away, knowing that magic and friendship could be found in the most unexpected places—even with someone who looked scary at first.
From that day on, Lily learned an important lesson: never judge someone by how they look, because the best friends might surprise you.
