The Orange Pyramid Game

Lily had discovered the most amazing thing in her grandmother's garden. Hidden behind tall sunflowers stood an ancient stone pyramid, no taller than her father, covered in mysterious glowing symbols. Every afternoon at sunset, the pyramid would hum a soft, lullaby-like melody.

"What secrets do you hold?" Lily wondered, pressing her hand against the warm stones.

One day, her new friend Marcus joined her. Marcus had just moved from Spain and carried something strange—a padel racket with a bumpy blue surface.

"In my village," Marcus explained, "we play padel in magical places. Perhaps this pyramid wants to play too!"

Lily's eyes widened. "But who would we play against?"

As if answering, a tiny orange rolled out from beneath the pyramid's base. But this was no ordinary orange—it had a cheerful face and wiggled its leaves like arms!

"I'm Pip!" the orange squeaked. "And I challenge you to the Pyramid Game!"

The pyramid's symbols lit up, transforming the garden into a magical court. Lily and Marcus vs. Pip the Orange—the most unusual padel match in history.

Pip bounced and zoomed, returning every shot with citrusy flair. But something was wrong. Pip played alone, with no teammates.

"You need friends!" Lily called between serves. "Even magical oranges shouldn't play alone!"

Pip paused. The orange had never considered this. For hundreds of years, the pyramid's guardian had played solo, thinking winning meant playing alone.

"Will you be my teammate?" Pip asked Marcus.

Marcus grinned. "Only if we take turns winning!"

And so they played—three friends, one magical game, laughter echoing through the garden. The pyramid hummed its happiest melody yet.

That evening, Lily learned something important: winning isn't about being the best player. It's about making sure everyone gets to play, especially those who've been playing alone for too long.

Now every sunset, the pyramid hosts the friendliest game in town. And sometimes, if you listen closely, you can hear an orange giggling as it scores the perfect point.
