The Orange Pyramid Cable
Lily loved Saturdays because that's when she visited her grandmother's attic. It was filled with mysterious treasures from all over the world. But today, something new sat on the dusty windowsill—a small, glowing pyramid made of what looked like solidified sunlight.
"What's this?" Lily asked, reaching for the pyramid.
Grandma smiled, her eyes twinkling. "That's a Memory Pyramid. It belongs to my friend Amir in Egypt. He sent it through the Friendship Cable."
"Friendship Cable?" Lily's eyes went wide.
"The most important cable in the world," Grandma said. "It's invisible, made from kindness and connected hearts. Watch."
Grandma handed Lily an orange. A perfect, bright orange fruit. "Now think of something happy and hold the orange against the pyramid."
Lily closed her eyes and remembered the day she learned to ride her bike without training wheels. The orange grew warm in her hands. When she opened her eyes, tiny orange sparkles floated from the fruit into the pyramid, which glowed even brighter.
"Amir will feel that joy," Grandma whispered. "And he'll send something back."
Suddenly, the pyramid hummed, and golden sand poured out, forming little hieroglyphs that danced in the air. Lily felt warmth spreading through her chest—Amir's happiness at receiving her gift.
"We're all connected by this invisible cable," Grandma said. "Every kind thought, every smile, every hug travels across it, making the world a little brighter."
Lily looked at the orange in her hand, then at the glowing pyramid. "So when I'm kind to someone, it's like sending them a gift through the Friendship Cable?"
"Exactly," Grandma nodded. "And that's why kindness matters. It travels farther than you can imagine."
That night, Lily drew pictures of the Friendship Cable connecting people everywhere—a shining web of goodness wrapping around the whole world like a warm orange blanket. She knew her kindness would travel far, making someone, somewhere, smile.
