The Orange Pyramid Adventure

Milo loved Saturday mornings. Today, he sat on his front steps, wearing his favorite orange baseball cap. His grandpa had given it to him, and it made him feel brave.

"Ready for an adventure?" his best friend Sofia called, skipping up the sidewalk. She held a shiny baseball glove in one hand and a paper bag in the other.

"Always!" Milo jumped up. "What's in the bag?"

Sofia peeked inside. "Spinach muffins from my grandma. She says they give you special powers."

Milo giggled. "Powers? Like what?"

"Like building powers!" Sofia pointed to the big oak tree in Milo's yard. "Let's build something amazing today."

They gathered fallen branches and smooth stones. Soon, they had a pile taller than Milo.

"What should we make?" Milo asked, adjusting his orange cap.

Sofia looked at their pile thoughtfully. "A pyramid! Like the ones in ancient Egypt."

They worked all morning, stacking stones and branches. The pyramid grew taller and taller. When they finished, it sparkled in the sunlight.

"We need something on top," Milo said. "Like a golden crown."

Sofia looked around and spotted a palm frond that had blown into the yard during last night's storm. It was long and green, shaped like a feather. "Perfect!"

They placed the palm frond on the very top of their pyramid. It waved gently in the breeze, like a flag.

Just then, Mrs. Chen from next door walked by. She stopped and smiled. "What a magnificent structure!"

"It's our friendship pyramid!" Sofia said proudly.

Mrs. Chen nodded. "You know, in ancient times, people built pyramids together. It took many hands and many hearts. They understood that something wonderful happens when friends work as a team."

Milo looked at Sofia. "She's right. I couldn't have built this alone."

"Neither could I," Sofia agreed. She opened the paper bag and handed him a spinach muffin. "Special powers for the builder?"

Milo took a bite. It was actually delicious! "These really do give you powers—the power of friendship!"

They sat together under the palm tree, eating their muffins and admiring their orange-capped, pyramid-topped creation.

"Next Saturday," Milo said, "what should we build?"

Sofia's eyes sparkled. "Maybe a castle! Or a rocket ship! Or…"

"Or whatever we dream up," Milo finished.

The sun shone down on the two friends, their pyramid, and the palm frond waving like a reminder: the best adventures are the ones you share with someone you care about.
