The Orange Pool of Dreams

orangefriendpool

Lily discoveries something magical in her backyard. An ordinary swimming pool had turned into a shimmering orange pool overnight! The water glowed like liquid sunshine, smelling of sweet citrus and summer dreams.

She dipped her toe in the warm, orange water. It felt like a hug from sunshine itself. Then something splashed! A tiny blue fish popped up wearing a tiny hat.

"Hello! I'm Finn!" the fish said with a grin. "I'm your new friend!"

Lily laughed with delight. She'd never met a talking fish before! "Can I swim with you?"

"Only if you can catch me!" Finn teased, diving beneath the orange waves.

Lily jumped in, and the most amazing thing happened — she could breathe underwater! The orange pool was actually a portal to a secret world beneath the surface. Colorful fish played tag among coral castles. Mermaids painted rainbows on seashells. Sea turtles carried messages in bottles.

Finn showed Lily the treasure chest at the bottom. But instead of gold, it was filled with something better — dreams that children had lost. A dream of flying, a dream of becoming an astronaut, a dream of making the world's biggest cookie.

"Every orange pool appears when someone needs to believe in magic again," Finn explained. "And today, that someone is you."

Lily realized she'd been too worried about growing up and too busy to wonder. She'd forgotten how to dream big.

She chose the most sparkly dream from the chest — her dream of opening a bakery where everything was free and everyone was welcome. The dream glowed in her hands, warm and real.

"Keep it safe," Finn whispered. "And remember — magic lives wherever you believe."

Lily swam back to the surface as the orange color began to fade. The pool returned to normal blue, but something had changed inside her. She carried the dream in her heart, and knew that with a true friend and a little imagination, anything was possible.

That night, she baked orange cookies and left one by the pool. Just in case Finn came back for a midnight snack.

The pool was just a pool again. But sometimes, if you look closely, you can still see a tiny orange spark in the water. Magic never really leaves — it just waits for someone to believe.
