The Orange Pool of Dreams
Lily loved running through the meadow behind her house. Every morning, she'd race the butterflies and jump over logs until she discovered something magical.
There, hidden between tall oak trees, was a pool. But this wasn't an ordinary pool. The water shimmered like liquid orange juice, glowing with golden sparkles that danced in the sunlight.
"Hello?" Lily called, her voice trembling.
A head popped up from the orange water. It was a girl with hair the color of sunshine and eyes like blueberries. "I'm Marina! Are you here for swimming too?"
Lily nodded slowly. "The water looks like... oranges."
"That's because this is the Pool of Dreams," Marina explained, splashing happily. "Whatever color you imagine, the water becomes! But today it chose orange all by itself."
Marina held out her hand. "Want to be friends? Swimming in dream water is better with a friend."
Lily stepped into the warm orange water. It felt like being wrapped in a cozy blanket! She and Marina spent the afternoon swimming through glowing currents that showed them tiny pictures of their dreams.
Lily saw herself running in a big race, winning a gold medal. Marina saw herself flying above clouds.
"Our dreams are orange today," Marina said. "That means they're filled with courage and adventure."
When the sun began to set, the pool turned purple, then twinkled like stars.
"Will I see you again?" Lily asked, stepping onto the grass.
"Every time you're running through the meadow," Marina promised with a wave. "Just follow your heart!"
Lily ran home, her feet lighter than air. She had discovered magic, made a new friend, and learned something wonderful: the best adventures are the ones you share with someone special.
And sometimes, if you're lucky, the most ordinary days can turn into something extraordinary—just like an orange pool that shows you your dreams.
