The Orange Pool Mystery
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house. Every summer, she'd spend hours swimming in the old backyard pool. But today something strange happened.
Grandmother handed her a shiny orange before her swim. "For after," she winked, her white hair sparkling in the sun.
Lily set the orange on the pool deck and jumped into the cool water. Splash! She swam lap after lap, practicing her underwater bubbles.
Suddenly, something caught her eye. Grandmother's old iphone, sitting on a table nearby, began to glow. Strange lights swirled around it like tiny fireflies.
Curious, Lily climbed out of the pool. Water dripped from her hair as she reached for the phone. The screen showed a message: *The Orange Portal Opens Once Each Summer.*
Lily looked at the orange. It was glowing too!
She picked it up, and the pool water began to shimmer and turn the most beautiful orange color. Without thinking, Lily tossed the orange into the water.
WHOOSH!
The pool transformed into a magical underwater kingdom. Fish made of light swam around her. A friendly dolphin appeared.
"Welcome!" it said. "We've been waiting for someone brave enough to find the orange portal."
Lily spent the afternoon swimming through coral castles and playing with sea creatures who told stories of children who believed in magic.
"Will I ever see you again?" Lily asked as the sun began to set.
"Believe in magic," the dolphin smiled, "and the orange will find you."
Lily found herself back by the pool, hair still wet, grandmother's iphone perfectly normal on the table. The orange was gone, but in its place sat a small seashell that glowed when she held it.
That night, Lily understood: the best magic isn't found on phones or in fancy things. It lives in brave hearts, curious minds, and the courage to dive into the unknown.
And every summer after, Lily waited by the pool, orange in hand, ready for her next adventure.
