The Orange Pool Magic

Lily loved summer days at the community pool. Her dark brown hair floated around her like seaweed when she was swimming. She could spend hours underwater, imagining she was a mermaid exploring a coral kingdom.

One Tuesday, something peculiar happened. Lily was practicing her swimming when she noticed a boy sitting alone on the pool deck. He had bright orange hair—the color of a sunset—and he looked lonely.

"Hi!" Lily called, swimming to the edge. "Want to play?"

The boy smiled shyly. "I'm Oliver. I just moved here. I don't know anyone yet."

"I'm Lily!" She climbed out. "Do you like baseball? My friends and I are going to play after lunch."

Before Oliver could answer, something strange tumbled from his backpack—a perfectly round, glowing orange! But this wasn't an ordinary orange. It sparkled like magic, and when it splashed into the pool, the water turned into liquid rainbow!

"Whoa!" Oliver's eyes widened. "That was my grandfather's magic orange. He said it brings friends together."

Suddenly, everyone swimming noticed the magical water. Kids laughed as rainbow droplets floated around them. Even their hair began to shimmer with golden sparkles.

"This is amazing!" said Marcus, Lily's friend. "We should play baseball in this magical pool!"

So they did—imaginary baseball, where splashes were home runs and laughter was the score. The orange bobbed joyfully in the corner, watching new friendships bloom.

"Thank you for bringing magic to our pool," Lily told Oliver as the sun began to set.

Oliver grinned. "And thank you for being my first friend."

That summer, the magic orange stayed at the pool, reminding everyone that the best magic of all is the kindness of sharing and including others. And Oliver? He became the most popular kid in town—not because of magic, but because he had the biggest heart.

The pool returned to normal water, but the rainbow magic remained in every friendship made there that summer.
