The Orange Phone and the Water Friend
Maya loved swimming in the small pond behind her house. The water always turned a beautiful orange color when the sun set, like someone had spilled a giant jar of orange juice into it.
One evening, Maya was splashing around when something shiny caught her eye. She dove deep underwater and found—her iPhone! She had lost it weeks ago.
But something strange happened. As Maya's fingers wrapped around the phone, the orange water around her began to glow. Bubbles rose up, forming shapes and patterns. Suddenly, the iPhone screen lit up by itself, showing not her usual apps, but a swimming fish that looked exactly like the ones in the pond.
"Hello!" said a tiny voice.
Maya jumped and splashed water everywhere. "Who said that?"
"I did!" A small fish popped its head above the surface. "I'm Finn! I've been waiting for someone to find that phone. It's the key to our world!"
"Your world?" Maya asked.
"The Hidden Water Kingdom!" Finn said excitedly. "Want to see?"
Maya nodded, her heart pounding with excitement. Together, they dove into the orange water. This time, as they swam deeper, the pond didn't end at the bottom. Instead, Maya saw a magical underwater kingdom with castles made of pearls and streets paved with colorful stones.
Finn showed her everything: the singing seaweed forest, the dancing jellyfish that glowed like tiny moons, and the best part—a library where fish read stories about the world above.
For hours, Maya played with Finn and his fish friends. She laughed so hard she almost forgot to breathe.
"You're my best friend," Finn said as the sun began to rise. "But you should go back now. The orange magic only lasts at sunset."
Maya hugged Finn. "I'll come back every evening!"
When she surfaced, her iPhone was just a phone again. But Maya didn't mind. She had discovered something better than any app or game—a real friend and a magical world she could visit whenever she wanted.
From that day on, Maya never spent her afternoons staring at screens. Instead, she went swimming in the orange water, waiting for the moment when the sun would set and her real adventures would begin.
And every time she saw an orange, she smiled, remembering the day she learned that the best magic in the world wasn't found in technology—but in friendship and imagination.
