The Orange Palm Tree's Secret

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house, especially on hot summer days. The best part was the old swimming pool in the backyard, where the water sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight.

One afternoon, while Lily was swimming laps, she noticed something strange. A small orange fish was following her everywhere she went! It had the most beautiful, shimmering scales that changed color in the water.

"Hello there!" Lily called out, splashing gently. The fish didn't swim away. Instead, it darted toward the edge of the pool and kept jumping.

Curious, Lily followed the fish to where a palm tree stood tall beside the pool. Its green leaves swayed in the breeze like they were dancing to secret music.

Then Lily saw something amazing. Hidden among the palm fronds was a tiny door, no bigger than her hand. The orange fish jumped up and tapped it with its nose.

"Open sesame!" the fish seemed to say.

The door creaked open, and out tumbled the tiniest fairy Lily had ever seen. Her hair was made of flowing water that never stopped moving, and her wings sparkled like the pool's surface.

"Thank you for helping me!" the fairy said in a voice like wind chimes. "I'm Marina, and this is my friend Coral. We've been trapped in that door for days!"

Lily's eyes grew wide. "You're real fairies!"

Marina laughed, her hair swirling around her like a tiny whirlpool. "Of course we're real! We guard this magical pool. When children believe in magic, the water stays special. But lately, not enough children have been believing."

"I believe!" Lily said. "I'll always believe!"

Marina clapped her hands joyfully. She tossed something bright to Lily – it was an orange that glowed with inner light.

"This is a magic orange," Marina explained. "Whenever you peel it, you'll remember this day. And whenever you share it with friends who believe in magic, more magic will grow!"

From that day on, Lily always shared her magical oranges with friends at swimming parties. And sometimes, if they looked closely at the palm tree, they could see the tiny door glowing, reminding them that magic is real – you just have to believe.
