The Orange Palm Pool
Lila lived on a tiny island where the sand sparkled like sugar. Every morning, she would walk past the cluster of swaying palm trees to visit her secret spot—a crystal-clear pool hidden behind the rocks. This wasn't just any pool. It was magical.
One day, an orange butterfly fluttered above the water's surface, leaving ripples that glowed like tiny suns. Lilla gasped as the water began to shimmer and dance. She reached out her palm, and suddenly the butterfly spoke!
"I'm actually a fairy named Sunny," the butterfly-orange creature said. "I've been waiting for someone kind enough to find my secret pool."
Lila's eyes widened. "A real fairy?"
Sunny fluttered closer. "This pool holds wishes for children who believe in magic. But I can only grant one wish per day. What does your heart desire?"
Lila thought carefully. She could wish for toys, or candy, or to fly. But then she remembered her grandmother, who couldn't walk to the beach anymore to see the palm trees she loved so much.
"I wish my grandmother could visit this magical pool," Lila said softly.
Sunny's orange wings glowed brighter. "That's the kindest wish anyone has ever made."
The water swirled with golden light, and suddenly Lila's grandmother appeared beside her, smiling and strong again. They sat together by the pool, watching the palm trees sway, eating sweet oranges they picked from the trees.
"Thank you, my dear," Grandmother whispered. "You gave me the greatest gift—your heart."
Lila learned that day that the best magic isn't about making wishes for yourself, but sharing wonder with the people you love. And every sunset, when the sky turned orange above the palms, Lila and her grandmother would return to their magical pool, where friendship made the water sparkle brighter than any spell.
