The Orange Moon Friend

Lily loved brushing her long curly hair every morning, but today she was running late for school! As she rushed outside, she noticed something strange—her neighbor's old dog Barnaby was barking at something glowing behind the orange tree in the garden.

Curious, Lily crept closer. There, sitting on the grass, was the smallest bull she had ever seen. His fur was as orange as a sunset, and his eyes sparkled like tiny stars.

"Please help me," squeaked the little bull in a voice like wind chimes. "I'm Moonbeam, and I've fallen from the sky!"

Lily's eyes went wide. A real moon creature! Barnaby stopped barking and wagged his tail happily, as if he knew Moonbeam was friendly.

"How can I help you get home?" Lily asked, kneeling down. Moonbeam's orange fur felt warm and fuzzy, like a cozy blanket.

"I need to touch something pure and kind," Moonbeam explained. "That's why I came here—I felt your friendship glowing from above!"

Lily thought for a moment. "My hair ribbon!" She pulled the pink ribbon from her hair and held it out. Moonbeam's nose twitched, and suddenly—POOF!—the ribbon turned into a beautiful orange butterfly.

The butterfly flew up, up, up, carrying Moonbeam with it. "Thank you, Lily!" Moonbeam called as they floated toward the sky. "You'll always be my friend!"

That night, Lily looked out her window and saw the moon shining brighter than usual, winking orange and pink. Barnaby barked softly at the sky, and Lily smiled, knowing her new friend was watching over her.

Sometimes the best adventures happen when you're kind to unexpected strangers—even tiny orange bulls who fall from the moon.
