The Orange Magic of Palm Grove
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house, especially the magical garden out back. One sunny morning, she noticed something peculiar—a large brown bear sitting in the palm tree, happily reading a book!
"Hello there!" Lily called out, her golden retriever Max barking excitedly beside her.
The bear looked down from his perch and smiled. "Well, hello! I'm Barnaby. Would you like to see something special?"
Lily nodded eagerly. Max's tail thumped against the garden fence as Barnaby reached into the palm tree and pulled down the most beautiful orange they had ever seen. It glowed with a warm, golden light.
"This is a Magic Orange," Barnaby explained, climbing down carefully. "But here's the secret—it only works if you share it."
Lily's eyes widened. "Share it?"
"Yes! Magic grows when it's given away." Barnaby split the orange into three pieces. One for Lily, one for Max, and one for himself.
As they ate, something wonderful happened. Wherever the orange juice touched, tiny stars appeared. Max's fur sparkled like the night sky. Lily's hands glowed with warmth. Barnaby's fur shimmered with silver light.
"The magic gets stronger the more you share it," Barnaby whispered. "That's why I live in this palm tree—to guard the orange grove and teach children the most important lesson."
Lily looked at her glowing hands, then at her sparkling dog, and finally at the kind bear who had shared his magic. "What lesson?"
Barnaby smiled, his eyes twinkling like the stars on Max's fur. "That the sweetest magic in the world isn't keeping things for yourself. It's watching joy grow when you give it away."
Every summer, Lily returns to Palm Grove. She and Max help Barnaby share magic oranges with new children, teaching them that friendship and generosity make the brightest magic of all.
