The Orange Lightning Padel

Lily loved the old swimming pool behind her grandmother's house. But tonight, under a full moon, the pool wasn't filled with water. Instead, it shimmered with orange light that pulsed like a heartbeat.

"Grandma said the magic only happens when you believe," Lily whispered, dipping her toe into the glowing pool.

Suddenly, orange lightning flashed across the sky, striking the pool's center. The light swirled upward, forming a curious creature—a little zombie with green skin, bright orange eyes, and the friendliest smile Lily had ever seen.

"I'm Zippy!" the zombie cheered, bouncing on one foot. "I've been waiting in the pool for someone who wants to play padel!"

Lily gasped. "You know padel?"

"It's the most magical game!" Zippy said, pulling a glowing orange padel racket from behind his ear. "Every time you hit the ball, something wonderful happens!"

He tossed a ball that sparkled like tiny stars. Lily caught it, and suddenly she was holding a padel racket too.

They played across the magical pool. When Lily hit the ball, orange lightning rippled through the air, creating shapes—a dancing bear, a flying whale, a castle made of clouds.

"I'm not scary at all," Zippy giggged when he missed a shot. "I'm just lonely. Most people run away when they see a zombie."

Lily stopped. "That's sad. You're the best padel partner ever!"

She hit the ball gently toward Zippy. This time, when his racket touched it, orange lightning burst into a hundred tiny butterflies that tickled their noses.

"See?" Zippy beamed. "Magic happens when someone gives you a chance!"

They played until dawn, filling the night sky with orange lightning wonders. As the sun rose, Zippy faded back into the pool, but he left something behind—a small orange padel racket that glowed whenever Lily felt lonely.

Now, whenever she visits Grandma's house, Lily plays padel by the pool. And sometimes, if she hits the ball just right, Zippy's orange lightning returns, creating magic that reminds her: the best friends come when you least expect them, and everyone deserves someone to play with.
