The Orange Lightning Keeper

Mia loved the old oak tree in her backyard. Every afternoon, she'd climb its branches and dream of adventures. One sunny Tuesday, something peculiar happened — the tree grew a single, glowing orange fruit.

Mia plucked the orange, but it wasn't ordinary. It shimmered like captured sunlight. When she peeled it, tiny sparks of lightning danced between the segments. A whisper rustled through the leaves: "Find the Pyramid of Storms."

That night, Mia tucked the magical orange into her backpack and followed the lightning bugs that flickered like living compass needles. They led her through the forest, across a babbling brook, and into a meadow she'd never seen before.

There, rising from the grass, stood a small pyramid made of purple crystal. Lightning arched across its surface, yet it felt warm, not scary. Mia approached carefully.

From behind the pyramid stepped the most magnificent creature she'd ever imagined — a bull made entirely of storm clouds and silver lightning. His eyes were kind, glowing like gentle lanterns.

"I am Thunderheart," the bull rumbled softly. "I guard the Lightning of Courage. But I've grown lonely guarding it alone."

Mia's heart swelled with compassion. She shared her orange with him, and as he ate, the lightning within him danced brighter. "Friendship makes us stronger, doesn't it?" Mia whispered.

Thunderheart nodded. "Will you visit me? Being brave is easier with friends."

"Every day," Mia promised.

And so began Mia's secret friendship with the Lightning Keeper. She learned that true courage isn't about facing storms alone — it's about knowing when to ask for help, who to trust, and that the bravest thing of all is kindness.

The orange tree bore more magic fruit, each one leading to new adventures. But Mia's favorite adventure was always visiting Thunderheart, her friend who taught her that even the mightiest storms need friends to weather them.
