The Orange-Haired Girl and the Pyramid's Secret

Lily had the brightest orange hair in her whole school. It fluffed out like a sunshine cloud around her face. Every day, kids would ask, "Is that your REAL hair?" and Lily would nod proudly.

One Saturday, Lily was exploring the woods behind her house when she spotted something strange poking through the trees. A wooden pyramid! Not a scary ancient pyramid, but a magical one painted with swirling colors like a rainbow.

Lily stepped inside and gasped. The pyramid was filled with glittery clouds and floating sparkles. And there, sitting on a mushroom, was the weirdest creature she'd ever seen.

"I'm Zom!" the creature said. Zom looked sort of like a zombie toy come to life—greenish, slightly rumpled, with button eyes and the friendliest smile ever. "I'm the pyramid keeper!"

"Are you... scary?" Lily asked, her orange curls bouncing as she tilted her head.

Zom laughed. "Only to mosquitoes! I'm actually a friend keeper. That's my job."

"A friend KEEPER?"

"Yes!" Zom hopped off the mushroom. "I help lonely people find friends. And I help friends stay friends. Want to see my magic?"

Lily's eyes widened. "Yes!"

Zom handed her a small orange feather. "This is a friendship feather. When you give it to someone who needs a friend, something magical happens."

Lily thought of Marcus, the new boy at school who sat alone at lunch. His hair was dark and shy, and he always looked sad.

"I know just who needs this," Lily said.

The next Monday, Lily sat beside Marcus at lunch. Her orange hair glowed in the cafeteria light. "Hi, I'm Lily. Want to see something magical?"

She showed him the feather, and suddenly it turned into two feathers—one orange, one blue. Marcus gasped.

"Friends share magic," Zom appeared from nowhere (only Marcus could see him now too!). "And friendship makes everyone braver."

From that day on, Marcus and Lily were best friends. And sometimes, when they visited the magical pyramid, Zom would teach them new friendship spells. Because the best magic isn't about zombies or pyramids—it's about having a friend who thinks your orange hair is perfect just the way it is.
