The Orange-Haired Girl and the Golden Bull

Lily had the most magnificent orange hair anyone had ever seen. It wasn't just orange—it blazed like sunset clouds, tumbled like autumn leaves, and sparkled like tiny stars caught in tangles. Her grandmother said it was magic, and Lily believed her.

One afternoon, while running through the meadow behind her house, Lily discovered something extraordinary. Hidden in a circle of ancient oak trees stood a tiny pyramid made entirely of crystal. It no bigger than a breadbox, but it glowed with a warm, golden light.

"Hello?" Lily called, stepping closer.

Suddenly, the ground rumbled. From behind the pyramid emerged a bull—but not just any bull. This one was the size of a large dog, with fur that shimmered like beaten copper and eyes that held the wisdom of a thousand years.

"You've found me," the bull said in a voice like distant thunder.

Lily should have been afraid. Instead, she felt a strange warmth in her chest. "You can talk!"

The bull nodded. "My name is Barnaby. I am the keeper of the Wishing Pyramid. For three hundred years, I've guarded it alone."

"That sounds lonely," Lily said softly.

Barnaby's eyes softened. "It is. Guardians are not meant to be alone. We are meant to share wonder." He pawed at the crystal pyramid. "This pyramid grants one wish to anyone pure of heart. But in all my centuries, I've never made a wish myself."

Lily's orange hair crackled with static as she thought. "What would you wish for?"

"A friend," Barnaby said simply. "Someone who would see beyond my fearsome appearance and recognize the heart within."

Without hesitation, Lily stepped forward and pressed her hand against the pyramid. The crystal flared brilliantly. "I wish that you, Barnaby, shall never be lonely again. And I promise to be your friend."

The pyramid dissolved into thousands of golden butterflies that danced around them before fading into the air. But something remained—Barnaby had changed. He was still magical, but now he smiled, and Lily's orange hair glowed even brighter than before.

"True friendship," Barnaby said, "is the most powerful magic of all."

And so Lily, the girl with sunset hair, and Barnaby, the golden bull, became the most unlikely friends the world had ever known—proving that the best wishes are the ones we make for each other.
