The Orange Dragon's Special Vitamin
In a land where dragons breathed fire and soared through clouds of purple, there lived a small dragon named Ember who couldn't breathe fire at all. While other dragons practiced making flames dance and sparkle, Ember only made tiny puffs of gray smoke.
One lonely afternoon, Ember curled up in his favorite cave, feeling sad. "Maybe I'm not a real dragon," he sniffled.
That's when he heard a tiny voice. "Excuse me, but I think you're the most interesting dragon I've ever seen."
Ember opened one golden eye to see a small orange creature with big, curious eyes standing on a rock. It was an ORANGE fox with the fluffiest tail Ember had ever seen.
"I'm Pip," said the fox cheerfully. "I've been watching you. Those gray smoke puffs are magical! They make shapes—yesterday you made a smoke rabbit!"
Ember sat up. "You really think so?"
"I know so!" Pip bounced excitedly. "And I have something that might help you. My grandmother says these are special FRUIT VITAMINS from the enchanted grove. She says true friends share them when someone needs a little magic."
Pip pulled a perfect, glowing orange from his bag and offered it to Ember. The orange shimmered like a tiny sun.
Ember took a small bite. It tasted like sunshine and happiness and maybe just a little bit of magic. Suddenly, he felt warm inside—not fire warm, but something better. FRIEND warm.
"Thank you, Pip," Ember whispered, and as he spoke, something wonderful happened. Instead of gray smoke, golden sparkles danced from his mouth, swirling around Pip and making them both laugh.
"See?" Pip grinned. "You didn't need fire. You needed a FRIEND to believe in you."
And from that day on, Ember and Pip were best friends. Ember learned that his golden sparkles could paint sunsets across the sky, and the other dragons soon agreed that this was even more beautiful than fire.
Sometimes the most powerful magic isn't what you can do alone, but who you do it with.
