The Orange Dragon's Secret

Lily loved running through the meadow behind her house, especially at sunset when the sky turned brilliant shades of pink and gold. One evening, something caught her eye—a bright orange stone glowing near the old willow tree.

She picked it up, and it felt warm, almost alive. Suddenly, the stone began to grow! It stretched and transformed into a tiny orange dragon no bigger than her hand. Its scales shimmered like sunset clouds, and its eyes sparkled with ancient wisdom.

"I am Ember," the dragon said in a voice like crackling flames. "Will you help me find my way home?"

Lily nodded eagerly. Ember explained that his home was in the Secret Lake beyond the forest, but he was too small to fly there yet. "We must go swimming," he said.

Together they set off, Lily running alongside Ember as he fluttered through the air. When they reached the lake, something magical happened. As soon as they stepped into the water, Lily found she could breathe underwater!

The lake revealed itself as a hidden kingdom full of glowing orange fish and dragons of all sizes. Ember's family greeted them with joy, and the oldest dragon thanked Lily with a special gift—a small orange scale that would always guide her true.

"True friends," the dragon said, "come in all sizes and colors. The smallest gestures of kindness can lead to the greatest adventures."

Lily returned home with her heart full of magic, knowing that the world held more wonder than she had ever imagined, and that sometimes the best adventures begin with running toward something unexpected.
