The Orange Cat Who Chased Lightning

Lily loved her orange cat Mango more than anything. Every afternoon, they'd sit on the porch watching the clouds drift by. But today, the sky turned dark and angry.

"A storm is coming," Lily's grandmother said. "Better stay inside."

Suddenly, a bright bolt of lightning flashed across the sky. Mango's eyes grew wide. Instead of running away, the orange cat leaped off the porch chasing the light!

"Mango, wait!" Lily cried, grabbing her yellow raincoat and running after him.

The cat led her to the old padel court behind the barn. It had been abandoned for years, the net torn and the fence rusty. But today, something magical was happening.

A gentle bull named Barnaby stood there, watching Mango dance through the rain. The bull was huge but kind, with soft brown eyes and a peaceful way about him.

"Don't be afraid," Barnaby said softly. "Your cat has a gift."

Mango wasn't just running — he was playing! Each time lightning flashed, the orange cat would jump and somehow, magically, catch the glowing bolt in his paws. He'd toss it up like a ball, and it would sparkle like fireworks before fading away.

"It's like he's playing padel with the lightning!" Lily laughed.

Barnaby nodded. "Every storm, he comes here. The lightning isn't scary when you learn to play with it."

Lily joined in, dancing alongside her cat while Barnaby watched protectively. They played until the storm passed, turning something frightening into something wonderful.

When the sun finally came out, Mango curled up beside Lily, purring loudly. Barnaby gently nuzzled them both.

"Thank you," Lily whispered, hugging her magical cat. "I'll never be scared of storms again."

And every time lightning flashed after that, Lily knew it was just Mango and Barnaby playing their magical game of padel in the sky.
