The Orange Cat Who Caught Lightning
Milo was an ordinary orange cat who loved ordinary things—napping in sunbeams, chasing butterflies, and purring so loudly the windows rattled. But Milo had a secret.
One summer afternoon, while Milo was running through the meadow chasing dragonflies, the sky suddenly turned purple. The birds stopped singing. The air grew thick and strange.
Farmer Brown's well had run dry! The crops were wilting. The animals were thirsty. But there wasn't a drop of water anywhere.
Just then, a single lightning bolt zigzagged across the sky—bright orange instead of white! It zinged straight toward Milo, who pounced playfully. But instead of being scared, Milo caught the lightning in his paws!
The orange crackles made his fur glow like a tiny sun. He felt powerful, magical, ready to help.
Milo knew exactly what to do. He raced to the old stone well, still holding the glowing lightning. With all his strength, he dropped it into the dry depths.
*FLASH!* The lightning struck bottom, and suddenly—water! Cool, clear water bubbled up from nowhere, splashing over the stones. The well filled instantly. The water flowed into the fields, into the animals' troughs, into every dry place it was needed.
The crops perked up. The cows mooed happily. Farmer Brown wept with joy.
Milo's orange fur returned to normal, but he purred louder than ever. He'd saved the day! That night, he slept in his favorite sunbeam, dreaming of lightning and water, ready for the next adventure.
And the townspeople? They left extra treats by the well, just in case their orange hero ever came running back.
