Lily had the most extraordinary hair in her whole school. It was bright orange, like the sunset, and it curled in every direction. No matter how much she brushed it, it always sprang back up, as if it had a mind of its own.

Barnaby nodded and led her to the orange tree. He selected a perfect slice and held it up to the setting sun. Through it, Lily saw tiny dragons dancing on mushroom caps and fairies painting rainbows across the sky.

"Your magic can help protect this world," Barnaby explained. "Only children with wild, wonderful hair can enter the Hidden Realm and keep it safe."

Lily felt something special bloom in her chest. For the first time, she loved her crazy orange hair. It wasn't messy—it was magical.
