The Orange Cat's Magical Friend
Marmalade was the brightest orange cat anyone had ever seen. His fur shimmered like sunshine, and his green eyes sparkled with curiosity. Every day, he explored the enchanted forest behind his house, looking for new adventures.
One misty morning, Marmalade heard a strange sound coming from the old garden. *Crinkle. Crackle.* It wasn't a bird, and it wasn't the wind. Being a brave and curious cat, he crept closer, his orange tail twitching with excitement.
There, tangled in the blackberry bushes, was a zombie! But this wasn't a scary zombie like in the stories. This zombie had patchwork skin made of flower petals, and instead of groaning, it was humming a gentle tune. Its name was Zed, and it was stuck.
"Please help," Zed said sadly. "I was trying to rescue this butterfly, but now I'm all tangled up."
Marmalade's heart went out to the poor zombie. Most cats would have run away, but Marmalade knew that appearances can be deceiving. He used his sharp claws to carefully snip the blackberry vines, freeing Zed and the beautiful orange butterfly.
"Thank you!" Zed beamed, and flower petals danced around his head. "I'm not like other zombies. I was once a regular gardener, but a magic spell turned me this way. Now I help plants grow instead of scaring people."
Marmalade and Zed became the best of friends. Together, they planted orange marigolds that glowed at night, and Zed's magic made them bloom bigger and brighter than ever. The other animals, who had been afraid of Zed, soon learned what Marmalade knew — that kindness and friendship matter more than how someone looks.
And every evening, just as the sun set, you could see a bright orange cat and a gentle zombie walking together, their friendship lighting up the forest like magic.
Marmalade learned that day that true friends come in all shapes and sizes, and that being brave means seeing with your heart, not just your eyes.
