The Orange Cat's Magic Gift

In a cozy forest lived a small gray bear named Barnaby. Barnaby was always tired and grumpy. He dragged his paws when he walked and frowned at everything.

One sunny morning, Barnaby met an extraordinary cat. This cat wasn't gray or black or white. She was bright orange, like a little sunset walking around on four paws. Her name was Mango.

"Why the long face?" Mango asked, her green eyes twinkling like emeralds.

"I don't have enough energy," Barnaby sighed. "I need something special to feel better."

Mango's tail curled up like a question mark. "I know just what you need! You need orange sunshine vitamins!"

"Vitamins?" Barnaby had never heard of such magic.

"Yes! Follow me!" Mango bounded through the forest, her orange fur flashing like little flames among the trees.

Barnaby trundled after her. Up they climbed, higher and higher, until they reached the top of Honeycomb Hill. There, the morning sun painted everything gold.

Mango stopped and turned in a happy circle. "Sit right here, bear friend. Close your eyes and feel the warm sun on your fur. That's your first vitamin!"

Barnaby sat. The golden sun warmed his shaggy coat. He felt a little tingle of happiness.

"Now," Mango whispered, "share your biggest smile with the world. That's your second vitamin!"

Barnaby tried. His mouth curved up, just a little bit.

Mango purred so loudly that the leaves around them trembled. "And friendship," she said, leaning against Barnaby's side, "that's your biggest vitamin of all!"

Something wonderful happened. Barnaby felt warmth spread through his whole body—not just from the sun, but from inside. He opened his eyes and looked at his new friend. The orange cat was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.

"Thank you, Mango," Barnaby said, and for the first time in forever, he meant it.

"Anytime, bear friend!" Mango chirped. "But guess what? The magic vitamins work best when you share them!"

So Barnaby and Mango went back down the mountain together, sharing sunshine, smiles, and friendship with everyone they met. And that's how the grumpy little bear learned that the best medicine in the world comes from kindness, love, and a very special orange cat.
