The Orange Cat and the Magic Pyramid
Lily loved her orange cat, Marmalade. He was bright like sunshine and purred like a tiny motor. Every day after school, they explored the woods behind her house together.
One Tuesday, something strange happened. Marmalade dashed into a part of the forest Lily had never seen before. "Wait!" she called, running after him.
There, in a secret clearing, stood a tiny pyramid made of golden blocks. It sparkled even though the sun was setting. Marmalade sat beside it, meowing loudly.
Lily stepped closer. The pyramid hummed with magic. Suddenly, a figure appeared behind it. It looked like a zombie - gray skin, slow movements, clothes that looked old and dusty. Lily gasped.
"Please don't run," the zombie said. His voice was soft, not scary at all. "I'm not scary. I'm just lonely."
Lily stayed. "You're a zombie. But you seem... nice."
"I'm Zed," he said. "I guard this magic pyramid. It grants wishes, but only to kind hearts. I've been here for so long, and no one ever stays to talk."
Marmalade rubbed against Zed's leg, purring. The zombie's gray face lit up with a smile.
"See?" Lily said. "Marmalade likes you. And I do too."
Zed's eyes grew wide. "You mean it?"
"Yes!" Lily said. "Can we make a wish together?"
The pyramid glowed brighter. Zed thought for a moment. "I wish... for a friend."
"I wish that too," Lily said.
The pyramid burst with golden light. When it faded, Zed didn't look gray anymore. His skin had a healthy glow, and his clothes looked new and bright.
"The magic knew your heart was good all along," Lily said. "You just needed someone to see it."
From that day on, Lily, Marmalade, and Zed had adventures together. They learned that the scariest things aren't always what they seem, and friendship is the strongest magic of all.
And sometimes, the best friends come from the most unexpected places - like a lonely zombie guardian and a girl with her orange cat, discovering magic in the woods behind her house.
