The Orange Cable to Starlight Pool
Lily loved watching the old cable car that swung across the valley every evening at sunset. It was painted a bright, cheerful orange that made her smile whenever it caught the last rays of daylight. Her grandmother said the cable car had been there for fifty years, carrying workers to the mountain mines. But Lily suspected it held a secret.
One warm summer evening, as the orange cable car rattled past, something incredible happened. The door swung open, and a shimmering hand beckoned to her. Without thinking, Lily climbed aboard. The car didn't head toward the mountain mines. Instead, it tilted upward, climbing higher and higher into the lavender sky.
Through the orange cable car's windows, stars twinkled like tiny lanterns. Ahead, Lily gasped—a magnificent pool floated among the clouds, its waters glowing with soft rainbow light. This was Starlight Pool, where wishes came to swim before falling to earth as shooting stars.
A gentle water spirit emerged. "You've found us," she said warmly. "The orange cable only appears for those with brave, curious hearts."
Lily spent what felt like hours dipping her fingers in the magical pool, watching wishes swim around her fingers like friendly fish. She saw wishes for puppies, for rainy days, for lost toys to be found. The water spirit handed her a small, glowing orange stone. "Keep this," she said. "Whenever you need courage, hold it tight."
As the first moonbeam touched the pool, the water spirit grew serious. "It's time to return. But remember—the magic isn't just in the pool or the orange cable car. It's in you. Your curiosity and bravery led you here. That's the real magic."
Lily climbed back into the orange cable car, clutching her stone. As she descended, she understood: the world was full of magical places, but only those who dared to wonder would ever find them.
That night, Lily fell asleep with the orange stone under her pillow, dreaming of starlit pools and cable cars that could take anyone anywhere—if only they were brave enough to climb aboard.
