The Orange Bull's Magic Hat
Lily skipped through the meadow, her favorite floppy hat bouncing on her head. The sun painted everything golden, and the grass whispered secrets as she passed. She was looking for her best friend, Toby, who had promised to show her something amazing by the creek.
"Over here!" Toby called, waving from behind a giant oak tree. Lily ran to him, her boots crunching on fallen leaves. By the edge of the sparkling water stood the most magnificent creature she had ever seen—a bull with fur the color of a ripe orange and eyes that sparkled like stars.
"This is Clementine," Toby whispered. "She's magic."
Clementine dipped her head gracefully. Around her neck hung a tiny silver bell that chimed like laughter. Lily noticed something strange—whenever the orange bull stepped near the water, ripples turned into rainbow colors.
"I lost my lucky hat yesterday," Clementine said, her voice warm as honey cake. "It blew into the rushing water downstream. Without it, I can't make the summer flowers bloom."
Lily's heart squeezed. She knew exactly how it felt to lose something precious.
"We'll help you find it!" Lily promised. Without hesitation, she pulled off her own favorite hat—the one Grandma had knitted with love—and placed it gently on Clementine's head. It was too small, but it made the orange bull look wonderfully silly.
Clementine's eyes shimmered with gratitude. As she dipped her horns into the water, the stream began to glow. Suddenly, hundreds of flowers burst into bloom along the bank—daisies, lupines, and poppies in every color imaginable.
"Thank you, friend," Clementine said. "Your hat is even better than my lucky one because it came from your heart."
Lily learned something wonderful that day: the best magic isn't about having special things. It's about giving what you have to help others. And sometimes, the perfect friend is someone unexpected—like a magic orange bull who wears a floppy hat and makes flowers bloom with her heart.
