The Orange Bull's Baseball Dream
Barnaby was no ordinary bull. He was bright orange—the color of sunshine and pumpkins—because he'd eaten too many magical oranges from the enchanted grove behind his farm.
Every afternoon, Barnaby watched the farm children play baseball through the wooden fence. His orange tail twitched with excitement as the ball sailed through the air, sparkling like a tiny moon.
"Someday," Barnaby whispered, "I'll play too."
One starry evening, something magical tumbled from the sky—a glowing baseball that landed right in Barnaby's pasture. It pulsed with warm light, and when Barnaby nudged it with his nose, the ball spoke!
"I'm Starball," said the baseball cheerfully. "I fell from the constellation Baseball. Will you help me return home?"
Barnaby's orange eyes widened. "I'll help! But how?"
"We need to hit me back up there," Starball explained. "With the perfect swing from the kindest heart."
Barnaby tried. He swung his wooden bat with all his might, but missed. Again and again he tried, until tears filled his orange eyes.
"Maybe I'm just a bull," Barnaby sighed. "Bulls don't play baseball."
Starball glowed brighter. "That's not true! The magic oranges you ate gave you something special—you can imagine anything into reality. Close your eyes and believe."
Barnaby closed his eyes. He imagined himself strong and graceful, a bull who could dance with the wind. He imagined the perfect swing, smooth as honey, powerful as thunder.
When he opened his eyes, something incredible had happened. Barnaby's hooves had become graceful as ballet slippers. His orange coat shimmered like sunset. He swung the bat—and CRACK!
Starball soared upward, trailing sparkles like a comet, right back to his constellation home.
"Thank you, Barnaby!" Starball called down. "You proved that anyone can play any game, as long as they believe!"
The next day, when the farm children arrived for baseball, they gasped. There was Barnaby, waiting at home plate, bat resting against his orange shoulder.
"Want to play?" Barnaby asked with a wink.
And that's how Barnaby became the first orange bull to ever play baseball—because imagination is the most powerful magic of all.
