The Orange Baseball That Could Fly
Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon after school, she'd grab her glove and run to the park where her friends waited. But there was one problem—Lily wasn't very fast.
"I'll never make it around the bases," she sighed, watching the other kids zoom past her like lightning.
That's when she noticed something strange glinting in the grass. It was a baseball, but not like any she'd seen before. This one was a bright, glowing orange!
"That's weird," she whispered, picking it up. The moment her fingers touched the orange surface, the ball vibrated with warmth, like it was alive.
"Throw me!" a tiny voice squeaked.
Lily almost dropped it. "Who said that?"
"Me! The orange baseball! And I have magic powers. But I only work for kids who believe in themselves."
Lily's eyes widened. "You're talking? And magic?"
"Throw me and you'll see!" the ball chirped.
Her friends were calling her name, so Lily took a deep breath and reared back. When she released the orange baseball, it didn't just sail through the air—it trailed sparkles like a shooting star!
"Now run!" the ball called out. "Run with your heart!"
Something amazing happened. As Lily took off running, her feet felt light as feathers. She was flying across the field, faster than ever before! The orange baseball seemed to pull her forward, and when she slid into home plate, her whole team cheered.
"You did it!" her friend Marcus high-fived her. "That was the fastest home run ever!"
From that day on, Lily learned that believing in yourself was the real magic. The orange baseball had shown her that courage lives inside everyone—you just have to run with your heart to find it.
And sometimes, the most wonderful adventures start with something as simple as believing that anything is possible.
