The Orange Baseball's Magic Portal
Lily loved spending summer afternoons in her backyard, especially when her dad played baseball with her.
One sunny Saturday, something extraordinary happened. An orange rolled across the grass — not just any orange, but one that glowed like a tiny sunset. When Lily picked it up, the fruit transformed into a baseball right before her eyes! It was the same brilliant orange color, with stitching that sparkled like golden threads.
"Throw me!" the baseball seemed to hum in Lily's hands.
Lily tossed the orange baseball high into the air. Instead of coming back down, it kept floating upward, creating a swirling orange portal. Lily's curiosity took over, and she stepped through.
She landed in a meadow where everything was orange — orange grass, orange flowers, even an orange sky with fluffy white clouds. Friendly creatures played baseball there, but their game was different. Every time they hit the ball, it burst into magical orange sparkles that made everyone laugh and feel happy.
A tiny orange creature named Pip scampered over. "You found the portal baseball! It only appears for children with kind hearts."
"I'm Lily," she said, entranced by this magical world. Pip taught her to play their special baseball, where the goal wasn't winning but making joy-filled orange clouds appear above the field.
When her dad called her for dinner, Lily knew she had to return. "Can I come back?" she asked Pip.
"Only if you bring joy to others first," Pip winked.
Back in her yard, the orange baseball was gone. Lily ran inside to tell her dad everything. "You have such a wonderful imagination," he said, though his eyes twinkled.
Lily grabbed his iPhone. "I need to show you something!" She snapped a photo of the empty spot in the yard. When she looked at the screen, she saw something magical — tiny orange sparkles dancing in the image, and for a split second, Pip's smiling face appeared in the corner.
"See?" Lily whispered. "Magic is real if you believe."
That night, Lily fell asleep smiling, knowing that kindness opened magical doors everywhere. And sometimes, just sometimes, orange sparkles appeared in her dreams.
