The Orange Baseball Magic
Leo loved baseball more than anything, but he always played alone in his backyard. Every afternoon, he'd pitch the ball to himself and imagine a stadium full of cheering fans. "One more practice," he'd whisper, "and someday I'll make the team." One sunny morning, something strange appeared in the grass – a glowing orange that shimmered like a tiny sun. Leo reached for it, and the moment his fingers touched the bumpy skin, green sparkles burst into the air! They swirled and twisted until a friendly figure stood before him. "I'm Zed!" said the creature, who looked like a zombie but had the biggest, kindest smile Leo had ever seen. "I've been watching you play from the magical orchard beyond your fence. I've always wanted to try baseball." Leo wasn't scared at all. Something about Zed's sparkling eyes made him feel happy inside. "Want to play?" Leo asked, tossing his baseball. Zed caught it with surprising grace, and soon they were playing the most wonderful game ever. The magic orange turned into a glowing home plate, and every time Zed hit the ball, it would burst into tiny fireworks before landing in Leo's glove. Other children gathered around the fence, watching in wonder. Leo waved them over. "This is my friend Zed! He's amazing at baseball!" Soon, everyone was playing together – the zombie who loved baseball, the quiet boy who found a magic orange, and all the neighborhood children who learned that friendship can bloom in the most unexpected places. That afternoon, Leo learned something magical too: the best adventures come when you open your heart to new friends, no matter how different they might seem.
